Couples Counseling

Do you feel like your relationship is at a standstill? Are you and your partner stuck in the same argument loop when you attempt to discuss difficult topics? Do you feel like you and your partner are drifting away? Do you desire more connection and better communication between you and your partner?

All things can be improved, changed and bettered, with just a little support, no matter how big or small. With couples therapy, you'll learn how to communicate your feelings and needs in a way your partner can hear, develop clarity on your own feelings and needs, and get what you want out of your relationship rather than being stuck in the same cycle around certain topics.

Some issues that bring couples to therapy are:

  • Communication /trust issues
  • Addiction/Partner Addiction Support
  • Balance (Work/Life/Family)
  • Blended Families
  • Chronic Illness
  • Divorce
  • Extended Family
  • Infidelity/Cheating
  • Intimacy
  • Mental Illness

In my couple's therapy sessions, I help couples lean into the deeper why of what is driving these dynamics with each other and learn to communicate differently getting the results you each deserve. Part of this process is paying attention to what happens when partners share. I use Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO-IFS for couples) to inform my work with couples. I am on staff with IFIO at this time and an assistant trainer for the IFS institute.

If any of the above relate to you and your partner in your relationship, contact me today for a free consultation. I would love to speak about how I may be able to help reconnect and rekindle your connection with each other.

INSURANCE IMPORTANT INFORMATION

While I do accept BCBS/Highmark and United insurance, they don't cover communication or relationship issues as medically necessary. The only way this can be covered is if one person carries a mental health diagnosis and the sessions are structured to support the relationship around one person's diagnosis. (Please do feel free to do your own research here). This can set up a pathologizing approach from the beginning of the process which is not how I choose to work and align with one person carrying more burden of the complexities. As this is the current rules, most couples sessions are not covered under insurance. My out of pocket rate for couples sessions is $150 at this time.
